In my opinion, the phrase 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure' can (and should) be applied to most anything.
On another note, Obama 2008! I like Barry because in 'The Audacity of Hope' he describes his reaction to badly losing a congressional race in 2000. "I excercised, and read novels, and came to appreciate how the earth rotated around the sun and the seasons came and went without any particular exertions on my part". He gets it!
